My philosophy

At it’s very best, I believe that theater education gives students opportunities to explore the boundaries of their own expansive self so that they may become more generous and openminded community members.

I am pursuing theater education that is dynamic, playful, and student-driven. I am committed to holding myself, my colleagues, and my students accountable to analyzing and challenging white supremacy, cisheteropatriarchy, and ableism in our art and classrooms.

MEN ON BOATS at UNC Chapel Hill

In 2014 I was an undergraduate student actor in the very first production in honor of UNC student Lillian Chason. In 2023 I was invited to direct Men on Boats by Jacqueline Backhaus as the 10th Lillian Chason production.  I collaborated with an incredible group of undergraduate student actors, designers, stage managers, and producers.

This honor was made possible by the Chason family, Dave Navalinsky, and Talia Klein. Thank you.
